Buh-Bye Patreon

09 Jan 2026

While I was working through my goals for 2026, I realized I wanted to accomplish a lot in a very small amount of time. I plan to release six books (minimum) this year - the final book in the Lessons in Cruelty series, and a new secret project (among other things) that I will discuss in more detail later in the first quarter.

I'm also planning a vacation to Australia, and that will set me back at least 3 weeks in work time, because I'm going to try very hard not to work while I'm on holiday.

This would be a miracle, of course, but I'm adamant I can pull it off with enough planning.

Which brings me to Patreon.

Babe, I've tried to make this platform work.

I've tried really, really hard!

But it feels like pushing a ten-ton truck uphill. The past couple of months, Patreon kept chastising me for ‘adult’ content, meaning I had to hack out large portions of the WIP chapters I posted on there for my patrons.

Which kinda sucks.

I have my audience set to adult, and they don't care. Seems they have mighty objections with dub-con, and stalker-ish psycho antiheroes.

Me thinks their content moderators have been on the receiving end of red-flag Tindr matches too many times…but I digress.

I love Patreon…but therapy has taught me to identify a situationship when I see one, and this one's toxic as fuck.

So I'm calling time of death on Patreon, and I will be shutting it down after the launch of Punished.

This is not a plea that you sign up. It was going to be that, but I've decided enough is enough.

If I have enough time later in the year, I will move my WIP read along chapters over to my website, where I can write my dark romance smut in peace and quiet without some bot judging me.

With that out of the way, I'm happy to report that I'm much further along with Punished this week than I'd expected, and ARCs will be going out VERY soon.

So stay tuned, happy 2026, and bring on the smut!
