When I was creating the world of Agony Hollow, I couldn't stop thinking about Cinderhart. The two small towns have a very similar vibe. 

• Both small towns have gorgeous, scenic landscapes and a gothic-esque vibe to their universities and campus grounds

• Massive income disparity creating a huge rift between rich and poor

• The “wealthy elites” run amok, doing whatever the hell they please, and suppressing any negative feedback by greasing the appropriate palms

• Police that spend more time sweeping crimes under the rug than making arrests.

So maybe it was no wonder that, when my new book called for a police officer to investigate a certain incident…there was only one person who came to mind.
