The Weekend, Massive Attack, Sleep Token, Deftones, and more…

Why am I mentioning random artists in my post?

Because the playlist for Stalked by my Professor is public and you can listen to it right now!

If you're new to my writing (or my newsletters) then you might not know how integral music is to my writing process.

From these insanely talented artists and bands that set fire to my neurons with their melodies, to the EDM I jam out to while I'm writing (seriously, I listen to a LOT of dance music while I write), music is so important to me.

I know not everyone is into book playlists, and since my playlists are so eclectic, I'm pretty sure there's a song or two you'll skip, but this is my way of giving you a glimpse into what my brain is like.

Kind of like a kaleidoscope of vibes. Snippets of song lyrics (sometimes just the singer's voice alone does it for me), a gloomy day, an interaction in the wild (these are rare, since I hardly ever leave the house, lol), a poignant scene from a movie or tv series.

They all jumble together and form a creative stew that bubbles away until I'm ready to put the words down and get the story going.

I have stories simmering like this for months (sometimes years) before I'm ready to ladle them out of my mind and onto paper.

And in case you missed last week's announcement, Stalked by my Professor is launching next week!

Are you ready?

You might think you are…
